Dr. Samantha D’Alonzo attended Northeastern University from 1994-1996 before transferring to Fordham University where she graduated in 1998 majoring in Biology. While biology was a strong interest throughout her time at college, inspired by her mother, she always felt the pull of teaching to help make a difference for young learners.
Samantha continued her education at Fordham University in the Graduate School of Education, receiving a Master’s of Science in Education in 1999. Following in her mother's footsteps she joined Les Enfants Montessori School continuing the schools mission of helping our youngest learners develop a strong foundation in reading, writing and math.
Samantha taught kindergarten for the next five years. During this time she attended The College of New Rochelle, receiving Montessori Certifications for ages 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 in 2003, 2005, and 2006.
For the next 16 years Samantha continued her role as Elementary teacher as well as Educational Director of Les Enfants.
Most recently she received her Doctorate of Education from Northeastern University. Having spent her teaching career implementing practices to improve reading skills among young leaners and believing in their importance and effectiveness in early reading she presented her dissertation entitled, Exploring Approaches to Teaching Early Reading in Preschool in Queens, NY: An Action Research Study.
